Devlog Entry 3: Robot Dog and AI
Backdoor » Devlog

September 5, 2024
Today, I'm focusing on creating AI for a robotic guard dog. I need to create convincing procedural animations for this character.
I'm working with the basics of IK and interactions with the environment. I've set up a system where the dog adjusts its steps based on the ground distance. It's progressing slowly but surely.
Checklist for procedural animation:
- IK system in place
- Fixed point on the ground
- Target attached to the body
- Raycast for height detection
- Move foot if the distance is too large
- Add delay for a zigzag pattern
